CA Utsav Dogra, Chartered Accountant, ICAI M. No. 542375 · Updated

In brief

What is specific to UK companies

India has no statutory redundancy scheme or TUPE equivalent of the UK kind; termination follows contracts, notice and the labour codes. UK handbooks are a useful base but need rewriting.

Questions

Can staff be hired before the company exists?

Yes, through an employer of record, with a planned transfer to the company later.

General information as at 5 November 2026, not advice for a particular case. Indian and UK rules change often; confirm the current position before acting. UK law points should be confirmed with a UK adviser.
