Compliance calendar for a Hong Kong-owned Indian company

CA Utsav Dogra, Chartered Accountant, ICAI M. No. 542375 · Updated

In brief

The Indian company files every month whether or not it trades: withholding tax by the 7th, GST on the 11th and 20th, provident fund by the 15th. Each year brings the AGM by 30 September, company filings after it, the tax return and the FLA return by 15 July, all to be aligned with a Hong Kong parent closing on 31 March or 31 December.

What is specific to Hong Kong companies

Track the conditions in the Press Note 3 approval letter alongside the usual Indian dates.

Questions

Does a company with no revenue still file?

Yes. Company-law, tax, GST (if registered) and FEMA filings continue regardless of revenue.

General information as at 5 November 2026, not advice for a particular case. Indian and Hong Kong rules change often; confirm the current position before acting. Hong Kong law points should be confirmed with a Hong Kong adviser.
